AHAH Update regarding COVID-19

3/23/2020

Hello. We are continuing to adapt our policies due to the changing situation regarding COVID-19. We are doing our best to serve you and your pet while keeping everyone (clients, patients and our staff) safe. In this uncertain time, it is going to take patience and understanding from all parties involved to get through. Please understand that some services will not be offered currently while we are trying to limit non-essential visits to maintain medical supplies and for everyone’s safety.

CURRENT POLICIES:

  • At this time, we will not be seeing patients for non-medical reasons, i.e., nail trims. Please make appointments for medical reasons/emergencies only. If it's at all possible to postpone wellness/vaccine appointments, please do so. Be advised the Rabies vaccine is required by law and we will see your pet to keep them current on their vaccines.
  • PLEASE LIMIT 1 PERSON PER PET. IF YOU HAVE BEEN ILL, PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE ELSE BRING YOUR PET IN.
  • Tech appointments will be accepted from the parking lot. Please remain in your car and call the office 847-593-1898. A receptionist will get your information and a tech will meet you at your car to take your pet into the building. Please have your dogs leashed and waiting outside the vehicle with you, ready to be picked up. For the safety of our staff, we will not be removing the dogs from inside your car. Cats MUST be in a carrier.
  • We have begun limiting surgical procedures by postponing non-essential procedures. Appointments will be taken on an individual basis at the doctor’s discretion. This is being done to maintain supplies and limit traffic in the hospital.

Scheduled surgery drop-offs will be accepted in the parking lot. Prior to your appointment, please go to our website to download

and print the Surgical Consent Form. https://www.ahahvets.com/resources.html
Please bring the completed form with you at drop off time. When you arrive, call the office (847-593-1898) and a receptionist will

check you in over the phone. The surgical technician will then come to your vehicle to accept your pet and completed form.

Please have your dogs leashed and waiting outside the vehicle with you, ready to be picked up. For the safety of our staff, we

will not be removing the dogs from inside your car. Cats MUST be in a carrier.

Our phones have been very busy during this time as we are having more phone consultations and conversations to help practice social distance.
PLEASE BE PATIENT WHILE HOLD TIMES MAY BE LONGER OR PHONE LINES MAY BE BUSY AND KNOW THAT WE ARE DOING OUR BEST TO KEEP UP WITH THE DEMAND.

Your understanding at this time is appreciated. We must all work together to get through this. Updates will be posted on our website     www.ahahvets.com  or follow us on our
Facebook page

Stay safe and thank you,

The staff of Arlington Heights Animal Hospital

Withthe changing nature of COVID-19, we updating our policy regarding visitors inside our building to keep patients, clients and staff as safe as possible.
We need cooperation and patience during these difficult times to be able to continue serve you and your pets.

When you make your appointment, the receptionist will go over the new procedure with you.
All medical and vaccine appointments will be done with a curbside pickup by staff and phone conference with the doctors. Please call the office 847-593-1898 when you arrive in our parking lot, you will be checked in via phone and someone will come out to retrieve your pet.

For safety reasons, our staff will not be retrieving your dog or cat from your car. Please have all dogs on leashes and ready to go. Cats must be in a carrier and have them outside the vehicle.

After the doctor examines the patient in the clinic, they will call you and discuss the proper treatment plan.

Families may still be present for euthanasia procedures.

If you are experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms or have been in contact with anyone who has, we cannot allow you in the building for any reason.

We appreciate your understanding while we work together to provide you with the best care while keeping everyone safe.
